Eurowind, Eniig Renewables to merge, combine renewable portfolio

Danish firms Eurowind Energy A/S and Eniig Renewables A/S are merging to create a combined portfolio of 350 MW of wind and solar installations.

The merger will create one of the largest power developers in Europe, according to a news release. The combined renewable assets of both companies produce 800 million kWh annually.

The transaction is awaiting approval from Danish competition authorities. The combined company will keep the name Eurowind Energy A/S with each company owning a 50% stake. The board of directors will be jointly appointed, while the executive board will consist of Jens Rasmussen from Eurowind Energy as CEO and Mikkel Abildtrup from Eniig Renewables as COO.

The new company will be headquartered in Hobro, Denmark. Eniig Renewables is a subsidiary of SE Holding A/S.
