Vestas secures turbine orders for wind projects in Poland, Ukraine

Vestas Wind Systems A/S secured a turbine order totaling 88 MW for two wind projects for Polish power group PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA.

The Danish turbine manufacturer will deliver 10 units for the 22-MW Karnice II project and 33 turbines for the 66-MW Starza Rybice facility. The deal includes a two-year active output management service contract. Vestas won the projects in the November 2018 Polish energy auction. The company will deliver the turbines in the third quarter of 2019.

Separately, Vestas agreed to provide its engineering, procurement and construction services for DTEK Renewables B.V.'s 99-MW Orlovka wind project in the Zaporizhia region, Ukraine. The company said in a separate news release that the order includes 4-MW platform turbines delivered in 3.8-MW power optimized mode as well as a 20-year active output management service contract. The deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2019.

DTEK Renewables, based in Ukraine, is the operation company managing DTEK's assets in the renewable energy sector.

Both projects are expected to begin operation in the fourth quarter 2019.
