Capital Dynamics acquires 180-MW solar project in Nevada

Capital Dynamics Inc. acquired the 180-MWac Townsite solar project in Nevada from Skylar Resources LP for an undisclosed amount.

The project, located in Boulder City, will also feature a 90-MWac/360-MWh energy storage facility, according to an Aug. 1 news release.

Townsite holds three long-term power purchase agreements with two municipalities and a cooperative. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

Tenaska Power Services Co. will act as the energy service agent for the project, which is part of "Gigawatt 1" solar project portfolios announced by Capital Dynamics, Tenaska Power Services and Switch Inc. in February 2018.

Gigawatt 1 aims to generate enough energy to power nearly 1 million homes.
