Unilever Indonesia profit misses consensus by 18.9% in Q1

PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk said its first-quarter normalized net income came to 168.42 rupiah per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 207.59 rupiah per share.

EPS rose 12.8% year over year from 149.27 rupiah.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 1.285 trillion rupiah, an increase of 12.8% from 1.139 trillion rupiah in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 13.7% from 13.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 7.9% on an annual basis to 9.413 trillion rupiah from 8.725 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses increased 6.8% from the prior-year period to 7.326 trillion rupiah from 6.858 trillion rupiah.

Reported net income grew 17.0% year over year to 1.592 trillion rupiah, or 208.61 rupiah per share, from 1.361 trillion rupiah, or 178.37 rupiah per share.

As of April 22, US$1 was equivalent to 12,917 rupiah.
