Apple Inc. is expected to unveil a new streaming TV service and a bundled subscription Apple News offering at a March 25 event, CNBC reported.
The service, which is expected to launch globally, will include subscription TV offerings from CBS Corp., Viacom Inc. and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.'s Starz, an earlier report said. Apple is also in talks to add AT&T Inc.-owned WarnerMedia's HBO to the service.
The video service will also feature original content, with Apple investing $2 billion in its production. The app, which Apple plans to launch in early 2019 for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, will reportedly allow customers to sign up for online-only services.
The iPhone-maker could also introduce a new low-cost iPad and a new version of AirPods at the event.
