Mackmyra Svensk Whisky Q4 loss narrows YOY

Mackmyra Svensk Whisky AB said its fourth-quarter normalized net income came to a loss of 34 Swedish öre per share, compared with a loss of 49 öre per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 3.0 million kronor, compared with a loss of 4.0 million kronor in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to negative 15.3% from negative 23.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 13.9% year over year to 19.8 million kronor from 17.4 million kronor, and total operating expenses climbed 5.1% from the prior-year period to 22.9 million kronor from 21.8 million kronor.

Reported net income totaled a loss of 5.0 million kronor, or a loss of 55 öre per share, compared to a loss of 8.0 million kronor, or a loss of 98 öre per share, in the prior-year period.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled a loss of 1.98 kronor per share, compared with a loss of 2.91 kronor per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was a loss of 16.2 million kronor, compared with a loss of 19.3 million kronor in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased 19.2% year over year to 62.1 million kronor from 52.1 million kronor, and total operating expenses rose 6.7% year over year to 79.4 million kronor from 74.5 million kronor.

The company said reported net income came to a loss of 26.1 million kronor, or a loss of 3.19 kronor per share, in the full year, compared with a loss of 32.4 million kronor, or a loss of 4.90 kronor per share, the prior year.

As of April 8, US$1 was equivalent to 8.13 Swedish kronor.
