Report: Waterton in deal to acquire North Harbor Tower in Chicago

Waterton is poised to acquire the 55-story North Harbor Tower in Chicago from Miami-based real estate developer Crescent Heights, Crain's Chicago Business reported, citing unnamed sources.

The purchase price was not disclosed, but the seller acquired the 600-unit apartment tower at 175 N. Harbor Dr. for $237 million in May 2016. The publication noted that if the property changes hands for such price or more, the deal could be the largest multifamily transaction in the Chicago area in more than two years.

The deal presents an opportunity for the Chicago investment firm to deploy capital from its recently closed $920 million multifamily fund, the publication added.

Neither Crescent Heights nor Waterton executives commented on the matter, according to the report.
