Sprint opens online marketplace for IoT services

Sprint Corp. unveiled the Sprint IoT Factory, an online marketplace for various internet of things services for business.

Sprint IoT Factory's digital store offers such services as refrigeration temperature monitoring for grocery stores and energy management tools.

"From family-owned restaurants, medical companies to heavy equipment fleet operators and everything in between, the Sprint IoT Factory is giving business owners the power to easily enhance operations using IoT technology to track assets and connect what's most important to them," Ivo Rook, senior vice president of IoT at Sprint, said in a May 17 statement. "We're excited about the effect this has on small and medium-sized businesses."

The company entered into a partnership with an IoT services company myDevices and The Goldie Group, a telecom technology service provider, for the initiative. The companies also will enable channel partners, wholesalers, system integrators and others to buy services as resellers.
