Total U.S. nuclear plant availability nudged higher early June 8 to 91.55%, up from 91.34% on June 7 but still below the 94.91% reported on the same day a year ago.

Providing a push to total availability was increased production at Tennessee Valley Authority's Sequoyah 2 in Tennessee. The unit was operating at 75% early June 8, up from 47% on June 7.

On the other hand, production at Entergy Corp.'s River Bend 1 in Louisiana fell from 99% on June 7 to 85% early June 8.

As of early June 8, a total of 6 nuclear units remain offline.
