Xenith shareholder withdraws merger-related lawsuit

A Xenith Bankshares Inc. shareholder withdrew a merger-related lawsuit after the company was acquired by Richmond, Va-based Union Bankshares Corp.

Shannon Rowe, a purported shareholder of Xenith, on Feb. 20 filed for the dismissal of a lawsuit against Xenith and its directors. Rowe's putative class action lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in September 2017, claims that Xenith had omitted material merger-related information.

Union Bankshares, which completed its acquisition of Xenith effective Jan. 1, was not named as a defendant in the lawsuit.
