C.I. Holdings fiscal Q1 profit climbs YOY

C.I. Holdings Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Sept. 30 was 8.2 million ringgits, a rise from 839,380 ringgits in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.8% from 1.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose year over year to 260.1 million ringgits from 87.5 million ringgits, and total operating expenses increased from the prior-year period to 245.4 million ringgits from 85.9 million ringgits.

Reported net income increased from the prior-year period to 10.1 million ringgits, or 6 sen per share, from 846,000 ringgits, or 1 sen per share.

As of Nov. 23, US$1 was equivalent to 4.28 ringgits.
