Kinderhook adds waste management company Chemtron to portfolio

Kinderhook Industries LLC bought RJG Enterprises Inc., doing business as Chemtron Corp., from fellow private equity firm CapitalWorks LLC for an undisclosed amount.

Chemtron is an Avon, Ohio-headquartered provider of hazardous and non-hazardous waste management services.

As part of the deal, Kinderhook operating partners Brandon Velek and Ken Wunderlich will join Chemtron's board.

Kinderhook seeks investments in middle-market companies in the healthcare services, environmental, business services, automotive and light manufacturing sectors.

Comerica Bank provided financing for the transaction. Kirkland & Ellis LLP was legal adviser to Kinderhook, while Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP was legal counsel to CapitalWorks and Brown Gibbons Lang & Co. was financial adviser to Chemtron.
