Swedish automotive equipment maker Autoliv Inc. said Feb. 19 that it will name its planned electronics spinoff Veoneer.
Autoliv's board agreed in December 2017 to move ahead to create the new business unit, with plans to form the independent publicly traded company during the third quarter.
Veoneer will be a supplier of automotive safety electronics products, autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems as well as advanced brake-control solutions.
Autoliv's Passive Safety segment will continue to operate under its New York- and Stockholm-traded parent.
The spinoff is subject to market, regulatory and other conditions that include approval by Autoliv's board.
