JPMorgan may license Precidian Investments' ActiveShares model

JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s asset management business signed a letter of intent to negotiate a license for Precidian Investments LLC's patented ActiveShares methodology.

According to a Jan. 22 news release, the Precidian model would allow J.P. Morgan Asset Management to deliver actively managed investment strategies in an exchange-traded fund without disclosing holdings on a daily basis.

Precidian Investments is seeking SEC approval to use ActiveShares.
