Mark Smith left Blacksburg, Va.-based National Bankshares Inc., where he was senior vice president and chief credit officer.


Gene Miles, president and CEO of Converse, Ind.-based First Farmers Financial Corp. and unit First Farmers Bank & Trust, plans to retire within the next two to three years.


Santander Bank NA Chief Marketing and Digital Officer Maria Veltre assumed the additional role of head of digital, innovation and payments strategy at Boston-based Santander Holdings USA Inc.

Erin DeWitt resigned as senior executive vice president and chief risk officer of Lafayette, La.-based MidSouth Bancorp Inc. and unit MidSouth Bank NA.


Daniel Lee took on the executive vice president and chief credit and risk officer roles at Everett, Wash.-based Coastal Community Bank.

Lee was Bend, Ore.-based Bank of the Cascades' executive vice president and chief credit officer.

Emilio Cooper was named executive vice president and chief deposit officer of Hamilton, N.J.-based First Bank.

Cooper joins from BMO Financial Corp.'s Chicago-based unit, BMO Harris Bank NA, where he was head of sales and distribution.

Michael Burke was appointed treasurer and division executive of Olney, Md.-based Sandy Spring Bank.

Burke was senior vice president and treasurer at Blairsville, Ga.-based United Community Banks Inc.
