Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. is now the sole owner of the 149-MW Deerfield wind facility in Michigan, after completing its purchase of class B membership interests in the project.
According to a notice to FERC, Algonquin Power successfully acquired the remaining 50% stake in the Huron County-based project from the RES Group subsidiary RES America Developments for an undisclosed amount.
In a separate deal, BAL Investment & Advisory Inc. and Citizens Asset Finance Inc. also acquired all the class A passive interests in the facility. FERC cleared the transactions in December 2016.
Wolverine Power Supply Cooperative Inc. will purchase the planned wind project's output under a 20-year power contract. (FERC docket EC17-31)
