Kao to launch skincare brand Jergens in Japan

Japanese personal products maker Kao Corp. said Sept. 5 that it will launch its Jergens skincare brand in its home market.

Kao already offers the brand to 41 countries and regions, including the U.S., according to the release.

The company will start to roll out its body care line Jergens Brilliance on Sept. 8.

In its earnings results for the six months ended June 30, Kao said Jergens performed well in the Americas. Sales from the company's skin care and hair care business increased 2.4% year over year to ¥170.8 billion.

As of Sept. 5, US$1 was equivalent to ¥111.54.
