MacroWell OMG Q1 loss narrows YOY

MacroWell OMG Digital Entertainment Co. Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income came to a loss of 35 Taiwan cents per share, compared with a loss of 90 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of NT$10.6 million, compared with a loss of NT$27.1 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to negative 4.5% from negative 18.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 55.8% year over year to NT$233.6 million from NT$149.9 million, and total operating expenses rose 40.3% from the prior-year period to NT$271.4 million from NT$193.4 million.

Reported net income totaled a loss of NT$25.3 million, or a loss of 84 cents per share, compared to a loss of NT$37.0 million, or a loss of NT$1.23 per share, in the prior-year period.

As of May 16, US$1 was equivalent to NT$32.63.
