Aliter Capital-backed Boston Networks buys 2020 Vision Systems

Boston Networks Ltd. paid an undisclosed sum to acquire North Shields, U.K.-based 2020 Vision Systems Ltd., which specializes in internet protocol-enabled security technology, video surveillance, access control and converged security solutions.

The transaction marks Boston Networks' second purchase since London-based private equity firm Aliter Capital became its majority shareholder in January.

The existing management team will continue to run 2020 Vision Systems, although Managing Director Peter Houlis will exit. Houlis however, will stay on as a consultant of the company.

Glasgow, U.K.-based Boston Networks provides network-enabled and smart-integrated technologies for improved security of buildings, campuses and cities.
