Resource Generation Ltd. said Dec. 11 that its Ledjadja Coal (Pty.) Ltd. subsidiary entered into an agreement with Noble Group Ltd. unit Noble Resources International Pte. Ltd. for the supply of additional uncontracted coal from the Boikarabelo mine in South Africa.
Under the deal terms, Ledjadja will supply a committed quantity of 800,000 tonnes of coal per annum, plus up to 300,000 tonnes of coal per annum to Noble on a quarterly basis in the first three years.
From the fourth year onward, the company will deliver up to 200,000 tonnes of coal per annum on a quarterly basis.
The company's obligation to sell and deliver the coal is subject to having sufficient contracted rail and port capacity for the delivery of the tonnages.
The transaction is in line with a March 14 funding deal between the companies, which restated the existing domestic off-take and coal marketing agreements with Noble.
