ChoiceOne Financial, County Bank Corp shareholders approve merger of equals

Shareholders of ChoiceOne Financial Services Inc. and County Bank Corp have approved the companies' merger of equals.

The combined holding company will be headquartered in Sparta, Mich.

Upon completion of the merger, the combined company will create an approximately $1.3 billion-asset bank holding company with 29 offices in western and southeastern Michigan.

The deal is set to go into effect Oct. 1, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions. ChoiceOne Bank and Lakestone Bank & Trust are expected to merge in the second quarter of 2020.
