Lucapa Diamond Co. Ltd. fetched US$2.0 million from the latest sale of alluvial diamonds from the Lulo diamond project in Angola, it said June 18.
The company sold a parcel of 1,782 carats at an average price per carat of US$1,150, bringing sales in the first half to a total of US$15.9 million at an average price per carat of US$1,642.
The sale excluded a number of large white specials and a colored special recovered, which were held for a future sale.
Lucapa owns a 40% stake in Lulo, while Endiama EP and Rosas & Petalas SA hold the remaining interests of 32% and 28%, respectively.
