Pemberton pulls in €4.2B across 2 European funds

Pemberton Capital Advisors LLP collected €3.2 billion for a new fund aimed at providing senior loans to middle-market companies in Europe for growth capital and acquisitions.

The diversified asset manager, which is backed by insurer Legal & General Group PLC, also pulled in €1 billion for its Strategic Credit Opportunities Fund. The firm said the vehicle offers flexible capital across the capital structure and is the first primary-focused credit opportunities fund in Europe.

During the first six months of 2019, Pemberton expanded its European network to seven offices by adding locations in Amsterdam and Copenhagen, Denmark. Its five other offices are in London, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan and Luxembourg.

The firm also added 10 members to its team during the same period, most recently Richard Meehan as director of origination in the U.K. and Ireland. Other recent additions include Boris Harmsen as managing director and head of Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg; Jean Tournaire as portfolio manager; and Mark Darell-Brown as consultant for trade receivables and supply chain finance strategy.
