Bricks and mortar: Bank of Castile, Hudson Valley FCU open branches in New York

S&P Global Market Intelligence rounds up notable branch openings and closings over the past week. This wrap excludes certain moves by banks with more than $5 billion in assets and certain credit unions.

Mid-Atlantic

Pennsylvania-based Mifflinburg Bank & Trust Co. in November opened a branch at 901 State Route 522 in Selinsgrove, Pa., according to the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities' Dec. 12 summary of activities.

Bethlehem, Pa.-based Lafayette Ambassador Bank closed its branch at 3397 Bath Pike in Bethlehem in November, according to the state banking regulator's Dec. 12 summary of activities.

Lancaster, Pa.-based Fulton Financial Corp. is the bank's parent company.

Mansfield, Pa.-based First Citizens Community Bank opened a branch at 1011 Dry Tavern Road in Denver, Pa., according to the state banking regulator's Dec. 19 summary of activities.

In addition, the Citizens Financial Services Inc. unit closed its branch at 2403 Main St. in Narvon, Pa.

Indiana, Pa.-based First Commonwealth Bank closed its branch at 1531 9th Ave. in Altoona, Pa., according to the state banking regulator's Dec. 19 summary of activities.

New York-based Bank of Castile opened a branch at 1 Hopkins Road in Buffalo, N.Y., The (Batavia, N.Y.) Daily News reported Dec. 17.

The bank is a unit of Ithaca, N.Y.-based Tompkins Financial Corp.

Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-based Hudson Valley FCU opened a branch at 152 U.S. Route 6 in Mahopac, N.Y., the (Kingston, N.Y.) Daily Freeman reported Dec. 18.

Brentwood, Tenn.-based Reliant Bank opened a branch at 633 Chestnut St. in Chattanooga, Tenn., according to a press release.

Citizens Bank of West Virginia Inc., the Elkins, W.Va.-based unit of Citizens Financial Corp., opened a branch at 77 W. Main St. in Buckhannon, W.Va., The (Buckhannon) Record Delta reported Dec. 17.

Carolina Bank & Trust Co. opened a branch in downtown Florence, S.C., which also serves as the bank's new headquarters, the (Florence) Morning News reported Dec. 18.

The bank is a unit of Darlington, S.C.-based First Carolina Bancshares Corp.

Live Oak, Texas-based Randolph-Brooks FCU opened a branch in McKinney, Texas, according to a press release.
