EBay Australia unveils new membership program with free delivery

EBay Inc. said May 30 that its Australian arm has launched a new membership program called eBay Plus, which will offer members in the country free delivery and returns.

The program, which will be available from mid-June, has an introductory offer of $29. Customers can sign up for a 30-day free trial before becoming a member.

The free delivery service applies to over 15 million products listed on eBay Australia's marketplace, including items from Myer Holdings Ltd., Target Corp. and Chemist Warehouse Pty. Ltd.

The announcement follows eBay Australia's recent partnership with Wesfarmers Ltd.-owned loyalty program Flybuys, which allows shoppers to collect and redeem Flybuys points when they purchase eligible items from eBay.

The retailer said eBay Plus members will be able to collect double Flybuys points on all their eBay Plus purchases.
