Ramelius Resources Ltd. said the life of its Vivien underground gold mine in Western Australia was extended by two years to June 2021 after recent drilling boosted the total ore reserve.
The ore reserve saw an increase of 200,000 tonnes at 4.8 g/t gold containing 30,000 ounces of gold, to a total of 420,000 tonnes at 5.5 g/t gold containing 74,000 ounces.
The total mineral resource, as at July 1, stands at 660,000 tonnes at 5.7 g/t gold containing 120,000 ounces.
The company said Sept. 12 that drilling is ongoing at depth with the potential to further extend the mine life.
"Once hauled to Mount Magnet, the additional material from Vivien will displace lower grade ore at the plant, leading to a slight increase in gold production for [fiscal year 2021]," Managing Director Mark Zeptner said in a statement.
