UK
* Great Portland Estates PLC Chairman Martin Scicluna, who sat on the board for over nine years, will retire at or before the 2019 annual general meeting. His departure from the role will take effect after the company's process of finding a replacement is completed.
The office landlord also said Jonathan Short will step down as a nonexecutive director of the company at the 2018 annual general meeting, scheduled July 5.
* Richard Gillingwater, who serves as chairman of Helical PLC's nominations committee, will not stand for re-election to the company's board as a nonexecutive director at the July 12 annual general meeting.
During his six-year stint at Helical, Gillingwater also held the position of senior independent director.
* Unite Group PLC's group property director Richard Simpson will leave the company and take up the CEO mantle at Watkin Jones PLC
Unite will promote its current property director, Nick Hayes, to the group property director post, keeping Simpson's seat on the board vacant.
* Sue Clayton, a nonexecutive director at Helical PLC, will join Segro PLC as an independent nonexecutive director June 1. Clayton is also an executive director at CBRE Ltd.
South Africa
* Texton Property Fund Ltd. added Marius Muller and Marcel Golding to its board as independent nonexecutive director and nonexecutive director, respectively, effective May 21.
Additionally, the real estate investment trust disclosed the planned departure on June 30 of company secretary Nqaba Sokabo.
* Paul Nucci resigned as Putprop Ltd.'s independent nonexecutive director with immediate effect, as per a May 18 release.
Finland
* Ann Selin, Olli Luukkainen and Jorma Malinen, the directors of the board of Kojamo Oyj, will relinquish their roles after the company's shares begin trading on Nasdaq Helsinki. The nomination board proposed to bring in Anne Leskelä and Minna Metsälä for the period starting from the 2019 annual general meeting.
France
* Ahead of Unibail-Rodamco SE's acquisition of its Australian peer Westfield Corp., the former's shareholders resolved to appoint erstwhile Westfield board members John McFarlane and Peter Lowy to Unibail-Rodamco's board. The company will also install Jill Granoff as a board member.
After McFarlane and Lowy — whose designations are pending the merger's closing — assume their seats on the board, Jean-Louis Laurens and Alec Pelmore will resign from Unibail-Rodamco's supervisory board and join the supervisory board of the merged entity, WFD Unibail-Rodamco NV.
