Daily natural gas production in Texas climbed in July, while oil output decreased, the state Railroad Commission reported Oct. 10.
Texas drillers produced 726.81 billion cubic feet of gas in July, or an average of 23.45 Bcf/d, according to preliminary production reports. The daily average in July surpassed June's preliminary average of 23.23 Bcf/d and July 2018's average of 19.76 Bcf/d.
The oil and gas regulator reported oil production of 99.6 million barrels on a preliminary basis, or an average of 3.2 million barrels per day, in July. The daily average was lower than the previous month's average of 3.3 million bbl/d but was higher than the average 2.9 million bbl/d a year ago.
For July, Reeves County remained the top gas producer in Texas with a preliminary reading of 63.38 Bcf. Webb County also kept the second spot with 58.40 Bcf.
Midland County dominated July oil production with a preliminary total of 12.0 million barrels. Karnes County followed with 7.86 million barrels.
