Petmed Express Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 24 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 22 cents per share.
EPS rose 8.3% year over year from 22 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $4.8 million, an increase of 8.8% from $4.4 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 9.8% from 8.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined year over year to $49.3 million from $50.1 million, and total operating expenses declined from the prior-year period to $41.6 million from $43.0 million.
Reported net income rose on an annual basis to $4.8 million, or 24 cents per share, from $4.6 million, or 23 cents per share.
