Oceaneering to provide pipe, leads for Vito project in Gulf of Mexico

Subsea 7 SA, under a contract signed with Oceaneering International Inc., will supply an umbilical and flying leads for Royal Dutch Shell PLC's deepwater Vito development in the Mississippi Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico.

Product design and engineering will start in the third quarter for 5.6 miles of electro-hydraulic steel tube control umbilical, and flying leads, according to a Sept. 10 news release. Manufacturing is expected to begin in 2019 at Oceaneering's facility in Panama City, Florida.

The contract work is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2020.
