Jaycorp Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended July 31 was 1.2 million ringgits, an increase of 18.1% from 974,380 ringgits in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 1.0% from 1.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 15.6% year over year to 69.3 million ringgits from 59.9 million ringgits, and total operating expenses grew 18.8% from the prior-year period to 67.7 million ringgits from 57.0 million ringgits.
Reported net income grew 6.8% from the prior-year period to 1.8 million ringgits, or 1 sen per share, from 1.7 million ringgits, or 1 sen per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 4 sen per share, a fall of 6.4% from 5 sen per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was 6.0 million ringgits, a decline of 6.4% from 6.4 million ringgits in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew year over year to 247.9 million ringgits from 236.3 million ringgits, and total operating expenses rose 5.5% year over year to 234.7 million ringgits from 222.5 million ringgits.
The company said reported net income fell 7.3% year over year to 8.0 million ringgits, or 6 sen per share, in the full year, from 8.6 million ringgits, or 6 sen per share.
As of Nov. 20, US$1 was equivalent to 4.27 ringgits.
