NW Natural Holding unit closes purchase of water, wastewater utilities in Oregon

A Northwest Natural Holding Co. subsidiary completed the acquisition of water and wastewater utility companies in Oregon from resort community Sunriver Resort LP.

The utilities involved in the deal are Sunriver Water LLC and Sunriver Environmental LLC, which serve a combined 9,400 connections in the community in central Oregon. NW Natural Water Co. LLC closed the purchase after receiving approval from the Public Utility Commission of Oregon and cooperating with the seller and community stakeholders, it said in a May 31 news release.

The deal is NW Natural Water's sixth transaction in the water segment and its first acquisition in the wastewater sector.

NW Natural Holding also owns local distribution company Northwest Natural Gas Co., which serves about 750,000 natural gas customers in Oregon and southwestern Washington.
