Juniper Networks, Inc. said its third-quarter normalized net income was 39 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 53 cents per share.
EPS increased 85.0% year over year from 21 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $150.1 million, a gain of 58.3% from $94.8 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 12.2% from 8.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 10.9% year over year to $1.25 billion from $1.13 billion, and total operating expenses rose from the prior-year period to $994.1 million from $968.5 million.
Reported net income rose 89.8% on an annual basis to $198.5 million, or 51 cents per share, from $104.6 million, or 23 cents per share.
