Lincoln Clean Energy to proceed with construction of 230-MW Neb. wind project

Lincoln Clean Energy LLC on Sept. 3 said it is moving forward with the construction of the planned 230-MW Plum Creek wind project in Wayne County, Neb.

The Ørsted A/S subsidiary issued a final notice to proceed on the project following a final investment decision from the parent company's board of directors. The project is expected to enter operations in 2020.

Output of the facility will be sold to The J. M. Smucker Co., Vail Resorts Inc. and Avery Dennison Corp. under long-term power purchase contracts.

Lincoln Clean Energy's portfolio now includes 670 MW of wind facilities under construction across Texas, Nebraska and South Dakota.
