MBT Financial ups quarterly dividend

Monroe, Mich.-based MBT Financial Corp. increased its quarterly dividend to 5 cents per share and declared a special dividend of 70 cents per share.

Both dividends are payable Feb. 21 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 14.

The previous quarterly dividend stood at 4 cents per share.

The company reported fourth-quarter 2016 net profit of $3.6 million, or 16 cents per share, compared to $4.0 million, or 18 cents per share, for the same period a year ago. For the full year 2016, the company reported net profit of $14.5 million, or 63 cents per share, compared to $12.1 million, or 53 cents per share, for the full year 2015.
