Kohinoor Chemical profit holds relatively steady YOY in fiscal Q3

Kohinoor Chemical Co. (Bangladesh) Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 came to 77 poisha per share, compared with 76 poisha per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 10.7 million taka, compared with 10.7 million taka in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.6% from 1.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 6.2% on an annual basis to 690.0 million taka from 735.4 million taka, and total operating expenses fell 5.9% year over year to 668.5 million taka from 710.3 million taka.

Reported net income grew 8.9% from the prior-year period to 12.7 million taka, or 91 poisha per share, from 11.6 million taka, or 83 poisha per share.

As of April 15, US$1 was equivalent to 78.35 taka.
