L'Oréal acquires hair color brand Pulp Riot

L'Oréal SA announced May 25 that it has finalized its purchase of U.S.-based professional hair color brand Pulp Riot.

David Thurston, CEO and founder of the Los Angeles-based firm, will continue to serve in his post. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The French cosmetics group noted that Pulp Riot's net sales in the U.S. totaled $11 million in 2017 and that the brand has also embarked on an international expansion.

L'Oréal announced plans to acquire South Korean cosmetics firm Nanda earlier in May. That arrangement is expected to be completed in the next two months.
