ECB, South African central bank sign cooperation agreement

The European Central Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding with the South African Reserve Bank on March 19 for the purposes of cooperation in the field of central banking.

The MOU, which was signed in Argentina on the sidelines of the G-20 meeting, provides a framework for regular exchange of information, policy dialogue and technical cooperation between the two central banks.

Both institutions noted that technical cooperation could take place in the form of joint seminars and workshops in areas of mutual interest in central banking.
