Permian Global Access Pipeline LLC asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to take an early look at a proposed pipeline that would run from the Waha gas hub in Texas to a point near Lake Charles, La.
In an Aug. 20 letter, the Tellurian Inc. unit requested that FERC authorize by Sept. 13 a prefiling review of the Permian Global Access pipeline project before the formal application, which the subsidiary expects to file by October 2020. The developer hopes to receive a certificate order from the commission in mid-2022, which would allow the project to meet an in-service date in the second half of 2023 to the first half of 2024.
The planned 625-mile, 42-inch-diameter pipeline is designed to move up to 2.3 Bcf/d of gas from the Permian Basin in Texas to gas markets in southwest Louisiana. The project would consist of up to 355,000-horsepower compressor stations and up to 22 meter stations. Permian Global Access Pipeline held a binding open season for the pipeline from April 8 to May 24.
The estimated $3.7 billion pipeline project is part of Tellurian's proposed pipeline network, which would represent about $7.3 billion worth of infrastructure projects. The network is set to provide gas to Tellurian's planned Driftwood LNG LLC export facility near Lake Charles. (FERC docket PF19-9)
