Bank of Ireland resolves credit card system issues

Bank of Ireland Group Plc's credit card system issues, which left its customers without access to their statements and balances, had been resolved, The Irish Times reported.

"Credit card transaction processing for Bank of Ireland credit cards is fully functional in all ATMs, point-of-sale devices and for e-commerce," the lender said in a statement. Bank of Ireland apologized to customers, saying its so-called card care system was having "some issues" but that it is working to fix this "as soon as possible," according to the report.

The lender's IT systems is currently undergoing a €1.15 billion overhaul, the report noted.

Customers of fellow Irish lender AIB Group PLC have also reported similar problems, saying they were unable to to access their credit card account information.

It is not clear if the said issues at AIB and Bank of Ireland were related, The Irish Times said.
