Report: ViacomCBS, Paramount back in talks for Miramax stake

ViacomCBS Inc. and Paramount Pictures Corp. resumed talks to buy a stake in Miramax LLC, Variety reported, citing two insiders with knowledge of the talks.

There is no deal yet but the potential transaction, in the low nine figures, would see ViacomCBS become an equity investor and make movies/shows based on Miramax intellectual property, according to the report.

Previous talks were abandoned in November after Viacom and Paramount Pictures notified Miramax's parent company, beIN Media Group LLC, about their withdrawal from negotiations amid "frustrations with the deal terms."
