Anheuser-Busch acquires Platform Beer to boost US craft beer portfolio

Anheuser-Busch Cos. LLC has acquired Cleveland-based brewer Platform Beer Co. to boost its craft beer portfolio in the U.S., according to an Aug. 7 announcement.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Anheuser-Busch InBev SA unit said it will add Platform Beer to its Brewers Collective as its newest craft partner, along with the startup's tasting rooms, distribution centers and a warehouse in Cleveland and Cincinnati, as well as Platform Beer's tasting room and coffee shop concept in Columbus, Ohio.

Platform Beer was established in 2014 as a homebrew-inspired brewery and has since grown into a business that creates more than 200 unique beers per year. It has tasting rooms, distribution centers and a warehouse in Cleveland and Cincinnati, and a tasting room and coffee shop concept in Columbus, Ohio.

The move comes over a month after Anheuser-Busch acquired the Babe Wine rosé brand from social media influencer Josh Ostrovsky, widely known as "The Fat Jewish."
