ASKUL Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Nov. 20 was ¥15.35 per share, an increase of 19.1% from ¥12.89 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥845.8 million, an increase of 20.2% from ¥703.4 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.2% from 1.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 11.8% on an annual basis to ¥68.91 billion from ¥61.66 billion, and total operating expenses rose 11.7% from the prior-year period to ¥67.65 billion from ¥60.55 billion.
Reported net income rose 65.6% from the prior-year period to ¥703.8 million, or ¥12.77 per share, from ¥425.1 million, or ¥7.79 per share.
As of Dec. 26, US$1 was equivalent to ¥120.44.
