McDermott granted 'substantial' contract for offshore work in Arabian Gulf

McDermott International Inc. on March 21 said it was granted a "substantial" contract for engineering, procurement, construction and installation services in the Arabian Gulf by an unnamed Middle Eastern customer.

The contract's work scope includes six new offshore jackets, three associated topsides, a pipeline, two bridges, cables and brownfield works at existing offshore facilities. Work is expected to last 34 months.

While no exact contract value was disclosed, McDermott defines a substantial contract to range from $500 million to $750 million.
