HDFC Bank, PayPal collaborate on digital spend push

India's HDFC Bank Ltd. is collaborating with PayPal Holdings Inc. to drive incremental digital spend, Business Standard reported Aug. 9, citing Parag Rao, the Indian lender's country head of card payment products, merchant acquiring services and marketing.

Under the partnership, HDFC cards will be presented as a payment option during enrolment and subsequent payments, with the ability for consumers to open a PayPal account and set it as their preferred payment method.

The move will allow HDFC Bank to reach existing and potential new PayPal customers across India, the report added.
