Aben, Eagle Plains suspend drilling at Chico on request of local community

Aben Resources Ltd. and Eagle Plains Resources Ltd. suspended a planned drill program at the Chico gold property in Saskatchewan following a request by a local community and members of a First Nation group.

Aben holds an exclusive right to earn an 80% interest in the project from Eagle Plains.

According to a March 23 release, Aben may revisit plans to explore the property, following meaningful talks with the community of Pelican Narrows and members of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation.

Aben recently received the permit for the program, which will initially comprise 1,200 meters in four to five drillholes.

The company also intends to undertake exploration at its Forrest Kerr gold project in in British Columbia's Golden Triangle.
