Dairyland Power to purchase 52 MW from Avangrid wind farm

La Crosse, Wis.-headquartered Dairyland Power Cooperative finalized a power contract with Avangrid Renewables LLC to purchase 52 MW generated by the proposed Tatanka Ridge wind farm in Deuel County, S.D.

The Avangrid Inc. subsidiary will develop and own the wind farm, according to a May 23 news release by Dairyland.

The planned 154.8-MW Tatanka Ridge wind project will consist of 56 turbines installed across 18,000 acres. Construction is expected to begin later this year, with a target commercial operation date by the end of 2020.
