Former Shine boss joining Channel 4 as chief executive

Channel 4 (UK) tapped former Shine Group CEO Alex Mahon to serve as the new chief executive of the U.K broadcaster.

Mahon succeeds David Abraham, who announced his departure in March. Abraham will continue to serve as CEO until Alex starts at Channel 4 in the autumn, according to a June 5 news release.

Mahon, who previously served as CEO of Shine Group, is CEO of global technology business Foundry. She left Shine Group in 2015 after contributing the company into a joint venture with Endemol to form Endemol Shine Group owned by 21st Century Fox Inc. and Apollo Global.
