Cleanup fiscal Q1 profit climbs 20.4% YOY

Cleanup Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 amounted to ¥26.09 per share, an increase of 24.9% from ¥20.89 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.17 billion, a gain of 20.4% from ¥973.1 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 3.7% from 3.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 11.0% on an annual basis to ¥31.92 billion from ¥28.77 billion, and total operating expenses rose 10.3% year over year to ¥29.95 billion from ¥27.15 billion.

Reported net income rose 26.0% on an annual basis to ¥1.09 billion, or ¥24.37 per share, from ¥869.0 million, or ¥18.65 per share.

As of Aug. 8, US$1 was equivalent to ¥101.85.
