Stelco withdraws US$300M debt offering amid poor bond market conditions

Steelmaker Stelco Holdings Inc. unit Stelco Inc. withdrew its proposed offering of about US$300 million of senior secured notes due to current bond market conditions.

The company did not provide any further details on the move in its Sept. 23 release.

The unit planned to offer the senior secured notes due 2024 through a private placement to fund capital expenditure requirements and potential acquisitions.
